This Jazz project from singer/songwriter/instrumentalist Tyrone Noonan, former frontman of No 1-charting, ARIA award-winning, multi-platinum-selling Australian band George… Palimpsest creates a timeless, yet current sound that takes the listener on an entrancing journey across continents, cultures and song writing eras, fusing elements of Swing, Latin, Soul, Folk and modern grooves and melodies. ‘I’ll Bet You Thought I’d Never Find You’, from the band’s debut self-titled album, has been licensed as the lead track on CD/vinyl versions of the top UK Nu Jazz compilation Messin’ Around Vol. 5 (Freestyle Records); while the remix version by top Japanese DJ Chikashi has been released on influential UK radio/club DJ Russ Dewbury’s Jazz Rooms compilation (Mr Bongo Records).

How did you like the event?

 Great musicianship although the drummer was a little dominant at times....could have used the brushes more to let the keyboard solos lead. Also too many Frank Sinatra numbers for my liking, but overall a really good night.

 I’ll always give you honest feedback Ian. We found Tyrone a little hard to digest. His voice was very pitchy and some of his song choices were beyond his ability. Looking forward to next month.
