This was by far and away the best play I've seen in the last few years. (I really enjoyed "In Duty Bound" as well - it really got me thinking about all sorts of issues.) I enjoyed "Things I know to be true" so much that I considered attending another performance. This didn't happen, but I borrowed a copy of the play from the library (had an enormous amount of trouble to get it - only available from Fisher Library at Sydney Uni); read it as soon as I got it!

 Excellent play, recommended to me (a friend had seen it elsewhere, Possibly Seymour Cente or Belvoir a few years before) and I'm very glad I saw it too

     One of the slowest and most disappointing plays I’ve ever seen at Chester St.

     Loved this play. The acting, sets, pace of dialogue kept us engaged.

       The script was great - full of "humanity" as the Director said. The presentation(staging/set/choreography was innovative, simple, and apt -great! The acting was very very good - very professional, nuanced. Thank you for a wonderful play.:)

     This was my first ever Chester St show after I was gifted a subscription for Christmas.

   So well acted. Just not quite so keen on the subject matter.

     Thought the acting was brilliant, and Rosie in the opening scene was great, as I have a granddaughter the same age, the feeling was she conveying resonated with me. Thought the last scene was rather raw compared to the rest of the play, have thought about how it could be done differently but find it difficult.

     Very interesting play. It must have brought up quite a few issues for members of the audience. I thought the perfor4mers did a very plausible job. Well acted.Loved being there at the theatre. Great atmosphere.

       Truly believable , flawed people , just like us . Compelling performances by all . Could understand why some patrons found this subject matter confronting .

   Sorry, I could not attend as I did not think the event was Covid safe.

   Quite possibly the best performance we have seen and enjoyed in our dozen or so years as subscribers. The storyline was so true to life and emotional. The performance by all cast members was exemplary and we would still be applauding if you had hung around longer on stage.

 I first saw 'Things I Know to  be True', on 23rd April with another couple. It was amazing!! I had to see it again!! I wanted to take my 3 adult children. We were all able to go on Mother's Day. It was brilliant!! My 3 are still raving about it and have told everyone. They are still ringing me to say it was the best show and time together. The actors delivered there lines with such gusto! Amazing!! It was very emotional, funny and pulled

 A family friendly play about close relationships and conflicts within an ordinary Australian family. I like it because it is heart warming, honest, sympathetic and real-life, the opposite of 'avant garde', 'post modernist', pretentious sophistication. Good ensemble acting, with mum Fran (Julie Moore) a standout performance!

   The play was outstanding. The direction and acting were all first class. We have recommended the play to others as a must see.

     A powerful, professional and moving play. Acting was 1st class - superb. The set was very clever with the changing of rose bushes - simple but very effective. I loved interweaving of the beginning and the ending - clever.

   Such a moving and emotional production. The cast were so believable in their roles, so many social issues, so close to home.

   Brilliant casting and direction of a memorable Aussie play. Every family has its secrets, its successes and its failures, all wonderfully interwoven in this story of events in the lives of the Price family - a family with some remarkable resemblances to our own. A great night of theatre.

    'Things I Know to be True" was a truely memorable theatrical experience that was beautifully crafted in every way. I was struck by the evocative staging (OMG...that tree!), the sensitive direction and the commitment of the actors. What a wonderful choice of play, cast and crew. This is community theatre at its BEST. Congratulations to all at The Theatre on Chester.
