How did you like the event?

It's a fantastic production with talented cast and crew! The story is timeless as the themes are still relevant today. Terrific experience and so nice to be back in the theatres in person. Thank you for putting this on!

How did you like the event?

It seems that Metropolitan continues to grow with each production. This one set a new mark for length and size of cast, and served to remind us that no matter how much things seem to change, we face basically the same challenges as our forebears, even if they now present themselves in somewhat different costumes.

How did you like the event?

One drawback. The person playing the mermaid was filling in and had to perform using the script. This was disappointing and a distraction.

How did you like the event?

Outstanding! Everything about this production worked. The cast was sublime ,and the set worked beautifully in the space. Alex Roe (Director) always does a superb job navigating the actors in the 3/4 stage no nothing is missed. This weekend , he is doing double duty, acting as well and he is superb. Perfectly present and in the period of the time every moment. The entire cast is a pleasure to watch. I am sorry it is ending this weekend. Go if you can.

How did you like the event?

I'm not sure why MP chose to mount this play. I found it talky, repetitive and tedious. It was also frustrating -- it's obvious from the start what the title character is up to. Yet everyone is oblivious except for Melville -- and he seems unwilling to do anything about it. And Chatteris is so prone to fall under her spell from the start that there is little suspense. It's not a question of will he or won't he but how long? Two and a half hours, that's what!
