My experience wasn’t necessarily bad, but it was noticeably underwhelming compared to last year. I had such an incredible time at the previous Gathering that I spent the entire year looking forward to returning and sharing the experience with my husband. Unfortunately, this year’s event felt less organized and lacked several of the elements that made last year so memorable, particularly the indoor vendors Waverly Hills tours, and impressive lineup of traditional customs.

 This was Amazing! We were so excited to finally get to visit Waverly for the first time, that we were so bad at the actual escape room clues. Of course, we didn't get out haha. It was very well put together. This is a beautiful place that I love seeing someone put the time in to keep it going. David was wonderful, friendly, and so helpful. We can't wait to get to come back!

 The escape room was great but getting to Waverly and inside was frustrating. Suggestion of better signage on which door to go in and what to do when you get to the outside gate woukd be helpful.

 signs are needed at street where you turn to get to sanitarium as Waze app and Google are not taking you to the correct area. No one in town could direct us to the correct area. Barely made it on time for tour.

 Crystal was a great guide. I enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back.

 Pay attention to Wheelchair if you have a Wheelchair. You do have to walk and climb stairs. A member of our group could not. But we did get to tour 2 floors with 2 workers who had been there over 20 years and they were great! Ended up with a private tour. Not what we came for but ended up better. Kudos to Tina.

 I was not expecting this event to be a tourist attraction. There were entirely too many people wandering around contaminating evidence. If you are going to have that many people there at once, coordinate groups to be in a separate location and rotate every 30 minutes or an hour. I was not aware the doors were going to be locked. Im sure its for safety but this needs to be communicated on the website prior to ticket purchase. The facility is great and the staff were nice.

 Spent my birthday at waverly and loved every minute of it. Tour guides were nice and very knowledgeable which helped make the experience all the more fun. Will come back and rent the whole place. Keep up the good work.

 While on the tour it would have been nice to be able to look into the homeless man's room even if it's just a walk by. And have a little bit more time to just look around at the floors that we were on and not feel so rushed.

 we had Jacob and he was very thorough and informative, and very good answering questions if asked. We did the 2 hour paranormal tour 8pm to 10pm

 The event was great! We definitely had a great time. The tour guide (I forget his name but he was the one that did the alarm every couple hours). He was very knowledgeable and even was very authentic when it came to him saying that he’s still learning a lot. This guy gets a huge A+ and he was funny too!! We are definitely going to come back and hang out some more!!!

 Everyone at Waverly Hill was amazing, friendly, and helpful. It was strange finding Waverly Hills-website told us to out specific address in on Waze, but it takes you to a spot in the middle of a golf course. Was very creeper out by the property and anticipating the paranormal tour.

 It was great! The staff were knowledgeable and gave a great tour. The building itself is very beautiful. I had a few experiences while there. I live pretty far away 15 hours, but I will definitely try to make it back again.

 My tour guide Jason and Lisa did a great job. Jason is very knowledgeable about the history of Waverly and I really enjoyed that he shared his experiences. I took tons of pics and my Mom and myself had a blast.

 Wasn’t able to attend due to a death in the family. I reached out & left an email on the website asking if we could transfer our tour to another date. I never received an email or phone call response back. Very disappointed, no one bothered to respond!

 Awesome tour! It was alot of fun for my teenagers to do. Great way to wind down the summer break, can't wait to come back in the fall for other events!

 We did the historical tour a couple weeks ago and loved it. But this experience wasn’t so great. Realizing that staff has no control over who signs up for the tour, they do control behavior while there. Or should. There were some in the group who were so loud and obnoxious (likely drunk) that no one could enjoy the experience or hear many of the experiences shared. This space is so beautiful and special - there is so much energy that should be respected and honored.

 Completely alive!!!! Active the entire 6 hours. Collected over 75 EVPs, 1 full apparition pic, nurse with noose pic in door way, demon pic next to gargoyle outside and so much more, interacted with surgeon and nurse in surgical room!!!!

 Purchasing tickets was a breeze. Directions were thorough. One recommendation would be that there is no contact phone number and we were at the gate 15 minutes ahead of our reservation as requested, but no one came to let us in until after our reservation time. Otherwise the entire experience was well put together and staff was friendly.

 It was really easy to get to the parking, and everything was well organized from start to finish. Everyone was super friendly and inviting, and I finally got to cross off an item on my bucket list.

 We were left. by both guides before we came out of the gift shop. Our younger members had never been and we wanted a small tour. The gift shop teller found us another person whom worked there to take us around before we were left to explore on our own.

 The escape room was very cool, creepy vibe.

 The staff was very helpful. I took my daughter, 16, and we had a blast. Thanks Waverly Hills for a great experience.

 Although I didnt personally see anything I loved that people were set free to investigate anything in the building. It was an awesome experience and I'd definitely do it again!

 The gift shop was disappointing from back in 2022 when there was more historical than scary merchandise with more colors than just black. Didn’t buy anything this time.😞

 We enjoyed visiting overall. The architecture is great to see in person and it’s great that the site is being protected from being vandalized or from further decay. We would like to see a couple of recreated rooms within the facility or more photos of what it was like when it was in use. We would also love to see the basement and mechanicals required to run such a facility.

 I had an unusual circumstance and had to cancel my trip. No one ever responded to emails I sent or voice-mails I left. Extremely upset and disappointed about not being able to get a refund for the $172 I spent nor did anyone at Waverly care or bother to respond. 0/10 fir my experience with them!

 I have been to this location several times. I really enjoyed this version of the public investigating rather than within a large group setting.

 We come to Waverly Hills every year! We love Tina, Charlie and the entire team there! This is a beautiful building that you see the care and love being poured into, and we get excited to take our guests there to help them cross this iconic location off their bucket lists.  My brother and I absolutely had a wonderful time, Cristal was an amazing tour Guide very funny with Gia in the back. I would recommend anyone to go just once even the scaredy cat like me was brave enough to come out and see. I hope I got their names right but they were all so friendly and super knowledgeable.

 Great experience and we DID observe activity! It would be really helpful if the directions indicated that you take the narrow road to the left up the hill near the golf club or perhaps have a sign indicating the location at that juncture. Great tour led by Crystal!

 we wished there was a 6 hour day time experience for those of us who can't stay awake overnight. We would have loved to take the time to walk down the body chute.

 This place is incredible! We took the daytime tour, but will likely do the night tour in the near future.

 I came here with my boyfriend as a stop along the way to Tennessee. Ever since I was a little girl, I have wanted to visit this building. I love the paranormal. I have been a ghost tour guide in my home town of Chicago, and I have traveled America visiting the most haunted places. To get the opportunity to come here was amazing and it did NOT disappoint. We took the historical 2 hour tour. Still was full of ghost stories and the guides were knowledgeable and kind. 10/10

 Outstanding experience. We loved being about to go off and investigate by ourselves. There were alot of people on the tour but everyone found their places and respected other space.

 We took the night tour, and while it was beautiful, the group size was far too large. With so many people talking, it took away from the atmosphere, it wasn’t very spooky, and there was no real opportunity to experience anything with that many people around

 there was way too many people to actually really do a good investigation. Way too much noise contamination. And the whole thing of being locked in is nice to keep others out but not being able to leave when we wanted was kind of odd. Then we were leaving and there was 2 groups of people that didnt make it back and we heard the workers say the doors and building was all locked up. We told the guy and he ran out after crystal. To tell her there were people locked in.

 Waverly Hills Sanatorium was everything and more than what I thought it would be! I could talk all day about the energy and the emotions that fill those grounds. From shadow people, apparitions, voices, and so much more, Waverly is truly a special place! I have wanted to visit for 20 years and last night one of my paranormal buck list dreams came true. I absolutely loved my experience with all my soul and the ones that roam those halls !♥️

 I’m Active Duty Navy and was on leave in Kentucky when I bought tickets on Feb 20, intending to go that night. The site defaulted to March 20 (also a Friday), and I didn’t notice the month. With a strict no-refund policy and now back at my Command in California, I can’t return. Money lost and the possibility of a future experience ruined.

 The tour was awesome. Our guide was informative and interesting. Either we missed or couldn't find instructions on getting there. It would've been helpful to have instructions with the ticket. There was a ton of info on no refunds, strangely and unsettling, but a lack of instructions. The wait upon arrival was felt too long without communication. Concessions were nice. The merch was disappointing. We would've loved more relevant, Unique, and/or stylish souvenirs.

 This was a very interesting tour. Nicole was an excellent guide, personable and knowledgeable. The building itself is fascinating. Not often does one get to see a 100 year old building in a natural state of decay. I look forward to taking a Historical Tour in daylight. The views from the rooftop terrace when the Sanatorium was open must have been stunning. Tragic deaths unrelated to tuberculosis in addition to the many, many patient deaths before streptomycin in 1943.

 I had an absolutely amazing time. The tour guides were entertaining and knowledgeable, and I saw so many creepy unexplainable things. We are 100% planning on coming back for an overnight investigation

 I’ve always enjoyed attending the tours here, growing up with waverly as my back yard and getting to experience the energy here first hand is unreal.

 Extremely disappointed in the tour this year I’ve been going for probably the last 7-8 years not counting Covid and this is the worst tour I’ve been on. Our group has already decided that we will not be coming back. It has gotten progressively worse over the years. The tour guides on the ghost tour have become less and less knowledgeable and it feels like their job is to get us in and out as fast as possible. It’s honestly kind of sad. It used to be our favorite spot

 DO NOT PURCHASE ONLINE. The website doesn’t work and is poorly implemented. Purchased two tickets and it changed my dates to a different weekend when I received them. Sent messages to staff, but no response after two weeks.

 The wait was not worth the thrill! Waited over an hr for mediocre thrill. Wouldn't have minded the wait if the haunted house lived up to the hype

 Best we have been to!

 The staff was so helpful and did what they could with the information they were given. I could see in their faces the frustration of not having things clear so they could help their guests go to where they needed to. Also, it was raining and the lady in the parking only had a jacket for protection. No umbrella, nothing to keep warm and sheltered. Please, treat your staff better.

 Fun just not as scary as it was said to be

 I took my family to Waverly Hills, it was our very first time going. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the Halloween Event blew my expectations out of the water. Only complaint I had genuinely is that as we were waiting in line, no employees were present to give us instructions or a heads up of where we needed to go for prepaid tickets vs. People who needed to purchase tickets at the site.

 My family and I had the best time! My teenagers had never been to a haunted house before so they were nervous! They had the best time though and the actors were all so amazing!!! This was my second time coming and we will keep coming as long as we can!

 We went on Halloween night sat in traffic for 25 minutes. I ordered RIP price which I thought would allow good parking we had to walk through wooded, dark trail no lights to see how to get back to car . Straight jacket guy in Haunte Was told to sit on seats to see video , it was cold and sat there waiting for someone to start the video with no communication as to what was going on. The tour was very interesting, tour guides were very knowledge. Haunted house was amazing.

 we followed the map here. We were met by a parking greeter who charged us $5 and sent us up the exit hill. My older mother and pregnant wife hoofed it all the way up the hill only to find out there was parking at the top. We were told she was "supposed to tell us there was a top lot". We knew there was but assumed it was full if they were having us park there. Also the movie at the beginning was idiotic. Waaaay better last year.

 I liked the event but I feel there were a lot of missed opportunities for more jump scares throughout the house. It should have been more scary. I loved the pitch black rooms and the actors were great. 3D room and black lights were also cool. Awesome playlist playing!! Just more scare please!! 😱

 What a great haunted house! Everyone in our party jumped, yelled and laughed! We did the RIP ticket so we got the mini tour and the haunted house and it was so worth it to be able to experience waverly that way!

 You used to be able to go to the 3rd floor in theRIP tickets to the haunted house event but now you only get the 2nd 4th and 5th which are still good but I was looking forward to going to the 3rd floor who Jin my opinion is the best floor.

 The haunted house was good, but I was disappointed they didn't take better advantage of being in an old Sanatorium. If you blindfolded me and dropped me in this haunted house I would have no idea I was in a cool old Sanatorium because they covered it all up with generic wood walls.

 We drove 4 hours and spent $120 and it was definitely not worth it. The mini tour was ridiculous. Not a lot of history, but "made up" stories. We were rushed from floor to floor. The haunted house was just LOUD and very rushed. The 3D part was sickening and then the bridge through the spinning tunnel was awful!. I was so very disappointed because I have wanted to visit The Waverly for a long time and finally able to make the trip and really wish I hadn't. Total Waste

 This is the second time I have brought my family to haunted attraction. The total experience was not only amazing, but buying tickets online was extremely easy.

 There was a surprise fee for parking. The expense wasn’t the problem but the employee was difficult to see and appeared suspicious. As if they just showed up to he are and starting collecting money. Suggest mentioning a parking fee with purchase, proper reflective gear for safety and other form of employee identification.

 it was good. Miss the old intro with a history lesson! The history is part of what makes it scary. Let too many people inside close together. I know the line can get long but kept running into a large group in front and the group behind ran into us.

 I normally don't write reviews. I feel that the general public needs to know. I purchased tickets online for the haunted house. When I got there, decided would pay the $5 parking fee with card, since did not have cash. She charged over $69.00. I left several messages and heard nothing back. Best advice, watch your bank accounts!!

 I was disappointed they didn't incorporate much of the lore into the experience. Would be more scary if you focus more on the haunted aspect of the building. Not scared at all. Also took at least 30 minutes just to park.

 I've been 3 times now, never disappointed.

 The actors were all phenomenal. The parking attendants were fabulous. The haunted house was really awesome, however, there was an employee who was following us who was extremely rude. At first she played it off that she was just ahead of her family and tagging along with us, but, then she started pushing us through and rushing us. It was extremely disappointing. We drove 7 hours to experience this attraction.

 We bought tickets in advance, not realizing that it is clearly either oversold or not equipped to handle parking. We sat in a line on the side of Dixie Highway for nearly 25 minutes. We knew there was a far longer wait ahead of us (hours) before reaching the gate and parking lot at Waverly Hills and decided to head back home to Lexington. If I buy a ticket in advance, I don’t want to wait until hours to get in to the attraction. Very poor setup.

 Long line to drive in but super quick once we got there. Haunted house was spooky and worth it!

 Things were a little confusing with the confirmation emails. In one part of the email it says you must print your tickets and in another part of the same email it says you can either print or show your phone. Luckily we could just show our phone. Also, the confirmation email said we had to be there before our alotted time but that wasn't the case. We just needed to be there anytime between 730 and midnight. Other than that everything went smoothly.

 The history was interesting. Could have had people spread out a little more going through.

 Wait times were a little long. RIP ticket prices are too expensive for what’s included.

 Absolutely Awesome! We made this part of our weekend getaway from out of state. We will be back to do the tour. Very reasonably priced as well!

 The beginning needs better configuration. We was probably 10th line, send whole group to bleachers then said go inside so people who were last in line went in before us. Plus too may people going through together. But the HH itself was awesome

 Enjoyed the mini-tour and our guides did an excellent job explaining the floor we were on, and the stories behind the rooms. Although I did not experience any paranormal activity on this visit, I will definitely return.

 The black room where you can’t see really got me. I never get spooked but you got me more than once 😆 very well done
