 In this noir classic, detective Sam Spade gets more than he bargained for when he takes a case brought to him by a beautiful but secretive woman. As soon as Miss Wonderly shows up, trouble follows as Sam's partner is murdered and Sam is accosted by a man demanding he locate a valuable statuette. Sam, entangled in a dangerous web of crime and intrigue, soon realizes he must find the one thing they all seem to want: the bejeweled Maltese falcon.

 Kettle Moraine Playhouse delivered an atmospheric production of The Maltese Falcon, successfully transporting the audience into Dashiell Hammett’s gritty, noir world with shadowy, fog-filled staging and authentic period costumes. The focus on suspense and raw dialogue captured the vibe of this classic story, honoring the noir themes of cunning, deception, and greed. I thoroughly enjoyed The Maltese Falcon by Kettle Moraine Playhouse!

How did you like the event?

 Thoroughly enjoyed this production. Cast and crew did an excellent job. From the way the entire set was used, to the great music choices during scene changes to the many unexpected ways Spade disarmed his adversaries, it told the story well. Well Done!

 Excellent performance! This play was unusual for the KM playhouse in that it had a LOT of set changes! Very well done by all and can't wait to see what they have planned next!

 Too many scenes and set changes. Some of the scenes with Archers wife didn't add anything. Archer could have been the narrator. The upper level could have been used more effectively.

 I hadn't seen the movie before and I don't think I need to. The Playhouse delivered all of the emotions, nuisance, and story so I swept back into the time and could sit back and enjoy. They did so much, so creatively, within the space!
