The Lifespan of a Fact

Event Flyer

In this thought provoking comedy Emily Penrose, the editor of a prestigious magazine, is preparing to publish an essay written by acclaimed writer John D’Agata. Unfortunately John has a history of embellishing his essays, and this one is about an actual teen suicide in Las Vegas, Nevada, meaning there is no room for error. She assigns intern, and recent Harvard grad, Jim Fingal to fact check the essay. What starts professional, quickly becomes profane.

The Lifespan of a Fact by Jeremy Kareken & David Murrell and Gordon Farrell. Based on the book by John D’Agata and Jim Fingal.

Directed by

Dustin Wright

The play was extremely enjoyable and very intense. Memorizing that amount of dialogue is truly amazing and delivering it with such emotion was art. We have never been disappointed when attending your productions. Thank you

How did you like the event?

This waas great. The play was thought provoking and did not answer the question. Actors fit their parts. Scenery was al that was necessary. Length of time was appropriate. Kudos for everyone involved. It will keep you thinking long after you leave the theater.

How did you like the event?

The actors seemed good. But wish I would have caught the notification that it was for mature audiences. 4 of us went. We all walked out within the first 30 minutes. The language was not necessary in the play, it certainly didn't add to our enhance any part of the play. But, we will be back for PG rated plays.

Again, another night of great theater. Although the weather was pretty frigid, going out to enjoy a great play in Las Cruces was worth it. Also, thanks for supporting Casa de Peregrinos with the food collection along with attending the theater.

How did you like the event?

We enjoyed this short, rather provocative play very much. The three actors were excellent. It's a timely subject with so much untruth going on in the world, not to mention "alternative facts" and just plain dishonesty. The set was very creative, too. All around, this was a good play--timely, humorous, thought-provoking, and very well acted and presented. Bravo!

How did you like the event?

The acting was outstanding! The sets were perfect (right down to the shelves of clean supplies behind Jim's desk - clearly he was shoehorned into a closet! ... Again 😂) The reason for my mediocre rating was the story - I didn't get the point. I THINK we were pointing toward the trouble with conspiracy theories today, but it never quite got there for me. A little too deep into the weeds.

How did you like the event?

LCCT is a Las Cruces gem! The acting was exceptional and we loved the intimacy of the theatre. The play was lighthearted, thought provoking, and for me, very poignant. I wasn’t expecting the impact of the ending. Bravo to the director and to the crew for lighting, set and sound design and to the marvelous actors! This is a community theatre worthy of support. My hats off to all involved! Madeleine Hart and Richard Grossman - St. Paul, MN
