In this loving send-up of the Jazz Age musical, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight.

   Enjoyed this, especially the narrator, very well acted he stole the show and made it highly entertaining. So of the other acting and performing was not up to par but the Lead/Narrator saved the show.

 I felt the man in the chair did more harm then good to the flow of the play. I believe it's a good idea, however it should be executed more subtle.

   We loved the show! However, you shouldn’t sell seats in the direct line of the orchestra. We were directly behind the conductor. Sadly we couldn’t see the stage very well.

   The cast was excellent, the set was good, the orchestra was sometimes too loud to hear the actors dialogue. The pacing of the show was slow.

 Nice theater. The orchestra was excellent. The play, not so.My sister invited many from out family to come and enjoy this local production. I had no background on the play origination. I assumed it was all a local product but was very surprised from reading the program that this was actually a Broadway play in the recent past. The dialog and story line seemed a little choppy. A long first act and a very short 2nd act was almost merciful. My hearing might have missed things?

How did you like event?

   I thought the production reflected the effort and time that each of the cast members and supporting staff put into the play. Each character felt well casted and fit into their role very well. I could tell that a great deal of care had been put into learning the dances and musical numbers. The live Orchestra element was very well done, and the gentleman who played the drums, triangle, and symbols was perfect in his timing.
