THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME

Adapted by Simon Stephens based on the novel of the same name by Mark Haddon. Directed by Sam McGowan

By Arrangement with ORiGiN™ Theatrical On Behalf of Samuel French

A Concord Theatricals Company

November 7th - November 29th

15-year-old Christopher John Francis Boone, a mathematical genius with an autism spectrum disorder, is hell bent to discover the mystery, or the ‘curious incident’, surrounding the death of Wellington, his neighbour’s dog, which was speared with a garden fork. While trying to discover who killed Wellington, Christopher encounters resistance from many neighbours, but mostly from his widowed father, Ed. Christopher argues to himself that many rules are made to be broken, so he continues to search for an answer and discovers much more than just a curious incident. Winner of 7 Olivier Awards including Best New Play in 2013.

How did you like the event?

I thoroughly enjoyed this theatrical performance and a special mention must go to the young man who played the lead role. I have neuro diversity in my family and he displayed the characteristics of autism extremely well. I wish him well as I believe he has applied to NIDA.

How did you like the event?

This was an excellent production, with fine acting and innovative set arrangements. Poignant, funny and moving, it was an absorbing trip across life through the eyes of a neurodiverse teenager. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and highly recommend this play and The Theatre on Chester.

How did you like the event?

We had a great night last night at the Chester St Theatres production of The Curious Incident of the dog in the Nighttime. Very clever graphics, lighting, and sound production. Utterly stunning performance by Jordan Andrews as the lead character Christopher Boone. The very talented Julie Moore played Christopher's teacher Siobhan, a reassuring and motivational smooth soothing presence and narrator of the play.

How did you like the event?

Loved The Curious Incident!! Jordan Andrews was perfect as the lead, and all his fellow cast were brilliant too. A few Chester St newbies in the mix and they were all fantastic, not to mention the regulars too :) Simple set, loved the lighting projections and the 10 simple black boxes. Oh, loved the story too. :) Sam McGowan, thankyou for bringing it to the Theatre on Chester!

How did you like the event?

Sad event, looked like a school play, unimaginative direction (people being hatstands and cupboards 🫠) slow and quiet, boring. Left at interval, narrater was good, very difficult to engage or care about the other characters (and poorly acted) soz
