The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Dazzlingly Inventive Play

Event Flyer

Fifteen-year old Christopher has an extraordinary brain; he is exceptionally intelligent but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor’s dog, he sets out to identify the true culprit. This play will be a unique theatrical experience for SVCT as the brilliant visual staging (projections, light, sound, and movement) captures the exciting depth of Christopher’s vision as he solves the mystery of the dog in the night-time and the unexpected mysteries of his life. Winner of the 2015 Tony Award for Best Play, this is also a profoundly moving play about adolescence, fractured families, and the wonders of life.

Evening performances will begin at 8:00pm  (November 17, 24, 25; December 1, 2, 8, 9)

Matinees begin at 2:00pm (November 18, 26; December 3)

Due to strong language and some adult themes, parental guidance is recommended for pre-teens.

Saturday, November 25 will be an Inclusive Performance to accommmodate those patrons who have difficulty sitting quietly for the duration of the show. Our expectation for this performance is that all attendees will accept the needs of diverse audience members.

How did you like event?

We left the play after the first act because of an audience member in front of us that was loud and laughing as if this was comedy. As a family with an autistic boy- his reaction is the same as bullies from school trying to have fun. This was not a comedy to make fun and laugh at the perspective of someone with a disability

How did you like event?

Excellent performance. The emotions of both parents of Christopher, were so realistic, whether at the moment the emotion was one of anger, sadness, guilt or pride. As the parent of a special needs teenager, the actors were "spot on." The actor playing Christopher was very captivating and so full of energy. Well done everyone!

How did you like event?

so very, very REAL and to see how the "uninformed" treat/speak to Kyle was difficult. A very difficult subject presented so well.....kudos to all of the actors, the set/lighting/brain visions, all excellent......very reactive feelings from the audience.....

I loved the event. It would be nice if there was a student discount for those of us on a fixed income. Always glad to put my dollars towards the arts when I can.

How did you like event?

The play definitely had a story to tell. I felt it was a bit tedious at times. The support actors were outstanding. The lead actor did a fine job in portraying a young man on the autism spectrum.

How did you like event?

(Copied from my FB post) Don't miss this incredible play! I'm still marvelling at the incredible play we experienced right here at the Morgan Hill Playhouse this afternoon!!! 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time' was wonderfully true to the book while also being incredibly creative with the props – boxes, humans and giant electronic screens – it all added to an immersive, exciting, poignant, and empathetic look into a neurodivergen
