Writer and composer Jason Robert Brown transports his audience from the deck of a 1492 Spanish sailing ship to a ledge, 57 stories above Fifth Avenue, to meet a startling array of characters that range from a young man who has determined that basketball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams… and a soulless marriage.

   The cast is so talented! The songs were very demanding and performed very competently. I am looking forward to future productions.

How did you like the event?

   Great production! So much talent !! Robbie needed a shirt that fit him ( this 1 was too small),, Kiera’s hair needed to be off her face. Her duet was lovely, but couldn’t see her face. Kayleigh needed a better costume- the shirt was bunched up in her pants- looked weird. Also, the eyes are so expressive- please keep them open when singing with the group ( at the end of the show). These are minor things- just observed from a fellow thespian. -

How did you like the event?

   I am s glad I bought season tickets to the RU Performing Arts program. The talent is amazing. Beautiful, clear, emotive voices and movement. After seeing three performances any of the faces on stage are familiar. I feel I’ve gotten to know them well enough to pick favorite BUT I tried and can’t. The support in the ensembles is flawless. Each solo is my favorite, until the next. RU Performing Arts is a gem in our community.
