Clear Brush Productions presents
Ronald Reagan Saves The World

The unvarnished, unapologetic, unauthorized recollections of a legendary American.

Directed by and starring Paul Messinger

September 1 - 10, 2023

This is the world premiere of Ronald Reagan Saves the World. The play takes place during one evening in the Oval Office near the end of his presidency. Mr. Reagan reflects on his life — from growing up in the Great Depression, to an iconic career in show business and politics — while dealing with an unexpected family crisis. This sometimes serious, sometimes humorous play is juxtaposed against the many challenges of his own time (and ours). There is something here for everyone, regardless of one’s feelings about Reagan the man or Reagan the historical figure.

Paul Messinger is a veteran actor and director. His many theatrical performance credits include Lady PatriotI Never Sang for My Father and Stuff Happens. He also has a long TV acting career in movies, episodic shows and commercials. Paul’s voice talents frequently grace Imagine Air Theater, a series of audio plays. Paul has worked as a director in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and various places in between, staging children’s shows (The Christmas Princess), high dramas (Gentle Passage), and comedies (Ledge), among others. He formerly served as the head of the director’s unit for Fierce Backbone.

Terry Phillips is the creator and host of Imagine Air Theater, a series of audio plays in the style of old-time radio but with contemporary themes. As a journalist, he covered major stories across the United States as well as from such global hot spots as Russia, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq and Haiti. Phillips is the author of Murder at the Altar, a historical novel. He was an award-winning radio talk show host, "Quality of Life," and an independent congressional candidate in California's Central Valley.

I'm a life long conservative who lived through the Reagan era. I found the play to be a competent retelling of Ronald Reagans personal and political history unto and including his presidency. Nothing really new for me here. Along with Margret Thatcher, Helmet Kohl Personally, I'd would have enjoyed a more inquisitive and/or critical view of the Ronald Reagan phenomenon. I've always been curious about his "true" persona - assuming it makes sense to treat any po

Despite ones politics History speaks for itself A few aspects of Reagan’s presidency were left out but many others addressed honestly! After all we are all just human , no more no less There are two sides of every coin, the value lies in the middle😄

How did you like the event?

I thoroughly enjoyed the event. Paul Messinger is such a talented actor. I felt like I was actually watching Ronald Reagan. At moments very humorous and then a few moments later very passionate and emotionally touching. I serve as a docent at the Ronald Reagan Ranch Museum on State Street and the presentation was spot on. So very factual. He didn't miss a beat. My only suggestion - change the title of the production. When I read the title was "Ronald Reagan Saves the Worl
