Rockford University’s 168th Commencement will be celebrated on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Coronado Performing Arts Center in Rockford, Ill.

All degree candidates are asked to report to the back door entrance of the Coronado (off of Park Ave) no later than 9:00 a.m. to officially check-in and line up for the Commencement procession. A parking map and driving directions can be found on the Coronado website: www.coronadopac.org/plan/parkingdirections/. 

We encourage you to visit rockford.edu/commencement for the most up-to-date Commencement information.

How did you like the event?

 I was really disappointed in the choice of speaker for the commencement. The entire speech felt like it was a shameless plug for her book and it felt like she lost completely the audience. I asked everyone that I invited what they thought as well and they all said the same thing. One even said she made 10 minutes feel like over an hour. Would not recommend inviting her to speak again.

How did you like the event?

  Please consider providing free parking for the event. It was a nightmare to get out of the parking garage across from the Coronado. Tempers were flaring and people were ill from having to wait at lease 50 minutes or more to get out of the garage. It would be helpful for RU to pay for parking for guests that day. Thank you.

   Great overall commencement but they parking is terrible. They should not charge for the parking garage, it took forever to get out.
