One Man, Two Guv'nors" by Richard Bean is based on the classical Italian farce "A Servant of Two Masters" by Carlo Goldoni. Updated to 1960s Brighton, England, it revolves around a struggling musician, Francis Henshall, who ends up working for two different bosses, both of whom are involved in the criminal underworld. As Francis juggles his various responsibilities, including delivering letters, moving luggage and ironing, what he most wants is a ham, cheese and tomato sandwich. This play was a hit for James Corden at the National Theatre in 2011. The Guardian called the National Theatre production a "triumph of visual and verbal comedy
