Keynote Speaker: Thomas Murray, serves as the Director of Innovation for Future Ready Schools. He has testified before the U.S. Congress and has appeared on various television and radio shows. Murray serves as a regular conference keynote, and has previously been named one of “20 to Watch” by NSBA, the “National/Global EdTech Leader of the Year”, the “Education Thought Leader of the Year”, the “Education Policy Person of the Year” by the Academy of Arts and Sciences, and one of the top 100 influencers in education by district administration. His Last two books, learning transformed and personal & Authentic, have both reached best-seller status.

This session is intended for people who teach heritage Spanish speakers. 
We will spend our time together unpacking strategies for meeting the unique needs of heritage Spanish speaking students. We’ll explore ways to develop their Spanish language skills while also keeping them engaged and interested! You’ll learn more about content-based instruction, social emotional learning, student choice, secret pen pals, and more!

Using Daily Themes to Create Lessons

This session is intended for World Language teachers.  In this session I will share how using themed days can help one stay in the target language.  Additionally, it can potentially decrease the time spent creating daily lessons.  I will share ideas and resources to help execute these lessons and welcome the ideas of others.
