Kimberly Akimbo

A Play by David Lindsay-Abaire

Event Flyer

Kimberly Levaco is your typical sixteen-year old: curious, precocious, and full of insecurity. She also happens to look like she’s 65 years old, due to a rare condition that causes the human body to age at over four times its normal rate. But this is a minor hindrance compared to contending with her loony family, including a lush of a father, a hypochondriac mother, and a scheming felon for an aunt. But like all adolescents, even Kimberly finds hope and excitement in the possibility of first love. Kimberly Akimbo is a play about making every moment count, particularly when you only get 25% of them.

New venue + old traditions, with a twist.

Kimberly Akimbo will be presented at the Limelight Theatre, 16300 Condit Road, in Morgan HIll.

Seats are assigned in advance and provided at check-in.  If you are attending with friends purchasing tickets separately, let us know the names or group name when you purchase your ticket.  We will do our best to seat your group together.

Come early and make it a night (or afternoon) out!  The Limelight Lounge opens one hour before showtime.  It's the perfect place to relax with friends before the performance and during intermission.  You're welcome to bring a meal to enjoy at our lounge tables.  Treat yourself to something from our bar, offering  cocktails, mocktails, wine, beer, and soft drinks, plus candy and other snacks.  We will invite you into the theater seating area about 15 minutes before showtime.  Please note that there are no tables in the stage area.

I knew Soozie Shireman would give an incredible performance as Kimberly Levaco because I have performed with her, but what I did not expect were the excellent performances of her cast members: Alex Grimm, Andy Kline, Keith Larson and Sindu Singh. Everything about this show is top notch: The story, the superb direction by Allie Bailey, the smooth flow of the show, a great set, music selection and graphic projections and a thrust stage drawing the audience into the story.

Wonderful script brought to life by 5 exceptional actors. Equal parts hilarious and dramatic, this story about a family dealing with the cards they have been dealt is highly recommended!

A nice play except for the language. In the future maybe disclose. I will be rethinking my attendance. It wasn't necessary. I brought a guest who was very offended.

The actors were fantastic. We were a bit disappointed with the set design compared to something like theatre works. That said, I really wanted to buy a slice of cake at intermission after the cake scene. I also heard another guest talking about the same thing. You could probably easily sell the rest of that cake for a few bucks per slice and make some cash!

Didn't think it was very funny or interesting. The family was TOO dysfunctional to be believable. Actors did a great job , just didn't think much of the script. Perhaps it was too dated -- for example, the check washing scheme and landline phone were too far in the past.

The play and actors were fabulous for Kimberly. The facility was terrible. I sat in the F row. The row in front of me pretty much blocked me seeing the actors. I had to try and sit at the edge of my seat and peer around the people seated in front of me. The lighting across from me was shinning in my face the entire time. I will not be returning if the seating is in this configuration of rows.
