The contest is open to both amateur and professional bakers statewide.
The first ten entries, in each category, from amateurs will be accepted.
Professional bakers or chefs, are asked to submit their entry under their business name.
Entry to cookoff will be based on a first come first paid for entry basis....you know how we do.
Registration is non refundable and will end 30 days before the cookoff contest.
 
Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place in each category, and a People’s Choice award will be presented to the overall crowd favorite. Prize package is a total of $500.00 plus second place consolation prizes. There will be categories as follows.

Best Collard Green.. Vegan NO meat. Prize $200.00.. 
Best Collard Greens with meat.. Prize $150.00
Best Sweet Potato Pie .. Prize $100.00
Biggest Sweet Potato .... Prize $50.00
 
 
There will be second place prizes for each category to be announced as they are delivered.
 
Registration fee will be $25.00
Contest and judging will be held at east highschool located at 1924 Van Brunt blvd. in KCMo.

Healthy recipe submissions should include ingredients that are either organic or 100 percent natural.
Recipes (when meat is included) must use lean cuts of meat such as: chicken, turkey, fish, shellfish, beef (sirloin, eye and top round steak/roast, 90 percent lean ground, etc.), pork (tenderloin, boneless loin roast/chops).
Recipes (when grain products are included) must use whole grain products (rices, pastas, breads, etc.).
Recipes (when dairy, sauces and dressing are included) must use reduced fat products.
Recipes (when soups, spices and sauces are included) must use reduced sodium options. Salt products may be used in acceptable quantities.
Heavy use of fruits and/or vegetables is strongly encouraged.
Recipes must include a complete list of ingredients including accurate measurements for every ingredient.
Recipes must include complete step-by-step directions for preparation and cooking to include times, temperatures, etc.
Photos of the entire process are encouraged and can include shopping for ingredients at your local farmer’s market, throughout the preparation and cooking process and of course the finished product. Photos must be copied and pasted into the designated picture section of the Healthy Recipe Submission Form.
Recipes must be submitted using the Healthy Recipe Submission Form and follow all formatting rules provided on the form.
