Now in its 2nd year, JOM MENARI! has been adapted and improved to showcase the very best of the Year 9 students' talents on stage.

This Year's Theme is "DANCES AROUND THE WORLD"

JOM MENARI! was created to allow all Year 9 students an opportunity to perform on stage in an exciting, creative and fun environment. Students have been working with AEVDC choreographers for well over 7 weeks as they prepare to showcase their efforts and perform on stage as part of their Performing Arts assessment. 

All 6 classes have been given a country as a theme for their dance. The choreographer has interpreted the theme into a Traditional/Modern fusion dance which teaches both intricate movements from Traditional dance and the energy from Modern dance. 

Students have learnt a great deal from being on stage - from costume to lighting and using the body as a tool to communicate. 

All classes will compete for the JOM MENARI! Challenge Trophy which was won by Ms. Norasila Laily's 9C class last year. They were choreographed by Danial XP from AEVDC. The winning class this year will be able to lift the trophy and each receive gold medals. Runners up will receive a silver medal.

Elite Dance Crew

This year's JOM MENARI! also features a Dance-Battle between our school district and others in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. A team of top dancers, an Elite group, have been rehearsing with a highly acclaimed choreographic team and will be performing at JOM MENARI! for the first time. They will also go on to represent the district and School at the Malaysian International Dance Organisation's International Dance Competition, later in October.

Each dance crew will be competing for a Challenge Trophy and gold medals. 

Our panel of judges will also showcase their skills to the audience in the Judges Showcase - an opportunity not to be missed!
