An Amateur Production By Arrangement with ORiGiN™ Theatrical, on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. - A Concord Theatricals Company

Directed by Joy Sweeney

July 26th - August 17th

Judy and Johnny are a little different and they love it. They're 1950s enthusiasts who have taken role-playing to a whole new level: Johnny's swapped meal prep and laundry for foot rubs and cocktail hour; Judy's swapped jeans and a job for darning and dusting. But will the cleaning the backs of things, ironing shirts and serving devilled eggs sustain their quality of life in the 21st century? Home I’m Darling” is the winner of various Laurence Olivier Awards including best new comedy on the West End in 2019.

How did you like the event?

Enjoyable and thought-provoking play with well-cast actors and an excellent set. The stand-in for the leading lady did an absolutely sterling job at short notice in her unfortunate absence. Very thankful that the Company was still able to proceed with the show which I think the audience all greatly appreciated.

How did you like the event?

A wonderful play, with a really strong and clear message. I thought Amelia Conway was supurb, Chester St can consider themselves very luck to have snagged a professional actress for this role. She was abley supported by Daniel Ferris, although there were no weak links in the cast! A most enjoyable performance, very well done indeed.

How did you like the event?

Quirky concept - living like a 1950’s housewife - (the Hollywood version ) while actually in the 21st century. Is this truely sustainable or a mere fad? What is gained and what is lost in the process? How have society’s and our own concepts of gender roles changed over the decades? Beautiful costumes, clever stage set snd brilliant performances by all characters- each truely bringing their roles to life. Much to discuss at dinner afterwards !

How did you like the event?

I was riveted from start to finish. This play explores very timely topics such as what being female looks like in this modern world, and whether there is ever a time and place for more "traditional" family values. The acting was superb, beautifully cocooned within a lush 1950s family home that was a total treat for the senses. This play kept me thinking long after the curtain closed
