Elwood P. Dowd is an affable man who claims to have an unseen (and presumably imaginary) friend Harvey — whom Elwood describes as a six-foot, three-and-one-half-inch (192 cm) tall pooka resembling an anthropomorphic rabbit. Elwood introduces Harvey to everyone he meets. His social-climbing sister, Veta, increasingly finds his eccentric behavior embarrassing. She decides to have him committed to a sanitarium. When they arrive at the sanitarium, a comedy of errors ensues. The young Dr. Sanderson mistakenly commits Veta instead of Elwood, but when the truth comes out, the search is on for Elwood and his invisible companion. When Elwood shows up at the sanitarium looking for his lost friend Harvey, it seems that the mild-mannered Elwood's delusion has had a strange influence on the staff, including sanitarium director Dr. Chumley.

Harvey is suitable for the entire family and runs for 2 hours plus intermission.

  This was a fun production, very well adapted to the LCCT. As I have never been to Main it made me wonder just how eccentric are those folks. My favorite character was the Repair Man when he was vowing he could mend her broken heart because he was a repair man and repairing things is what he did.

   The box office did a wonderful job of accommodating a ticket change, the theater did a wonderful job of accommodating a seat change (to a less dense section), and everyone did an amazing job! The lead actor was phenomenal!

   Theatre was cool in spite of the heat. Mostly 'older' crowd...how do we get the young to attend, try out, work backstage, costumes, and meet folks of the community....
