Festo! Festo! is a monthly Klezmer, Balkan, and World music concert and community jam session. This month’s Festo Festo will be held at The Velvet Elk Lounge in Boulder, CO. The evening will be full of talent from Colorado and around beyond! 

The Community Jam will be lead by the Boulder Klezmer Jam - a group of musicians that join together on a monthly basis to share and learn Klezmer tunes. 

Along with the Festo! Festo! house bands, Gora Gora Orkestar and Upsherin, there will be special guest features by:

Dan Blacksberg - Dan is a leading voice in Philadelphia's music community and a living master of klezmer trombone. Through performance, composition, and improvisation, he creates new territories to explore inside and across genres, forging new pathways between tradition and innovation. As a teacher and community music leader, he builds up all generations of musicians to become empowered and joyous rabble-rousers.

Rabbi Yosef Goldman - Yosef is a prayer facilitator, composer, educator, and rabbi. Raised in a mixed Orthodox Ashkenazi and Mizrachi home, Yosef has taught and led prayer in communities of every Jewish movement. He has served as a ba’al tefillah (prayer leader) for some of the most spiritually vibrant and creative prayer communities in the United States and Israel, including Romemu and B’nai Jeshurun in Manhattan, the Kitchen in San Francisco, and Beit Tefila Yisraeli in Israel. For over a decade, as a consultant, Yosef has advised synagogues and prayer communities seeking to deepen the communal spiritual experience through musical prayer. 

Tickets for Festo Festo will be on a sliding scale from $7 - $17.  

The sliding scale pricing model allows the JCC Denver to offer programming that is accessible to anyone regardless of their access to wealth. Everyone deserves to be able to participate! Participants are asked to be honest in evaluating their own circumstances and self-selecting the pricing tier that is right for them. In short, you should select a pricing tier based on the simplified criteria below.

Tier 3: You maintain a high standard of living and have access to expendable income.
