Disco which derives from the french translation 'Discotheque' was a new sound that broke out from New York suburbs in the early1970's. This new sound, which incorporated a backbeat of R&B/Soul and Funk, was being played non stop by radio stations right across  America!     

It was not long before Nightclub dancefloors around the world, were awash with pretty young things,busting moves in the sharpest satin suits and polyester sequin dreses and bell bottom flared jeans!

The glitter ball was also born.....

New names in music was also breaking through; Sister Sledge-Kool & the gang-Bee Gee's- Tavares- Van McCoy-Rose Royce-Chic, Earth Wind & Fire

The world would never be the same again!

Seriously who would not want to dance to 'Boogie Wonderland'

How did you like the event?

 Great fun and very enjoyable and super night. It was chilly in the town hall for awhile until it got busier so it would have been appreciated if it was warmer on arrival. Also not knowing when the disco finished meant some friends had a half hour wait for bus home.

 Absolutely loved it, there we two of our familes together and friends, we had such a wonderful time, in fancy dress and Afro wigs. It lifted our spirits and hope that you can do it again some time. Looking forward to it already.
