DAVID HYDE PIERCE is an Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor and director best known for his 11 year run as Dr. Niles Crane on the sitcom Frasier. His films include Oliver Stone's Nixon, Wet Hot American Summer, Down With Love and The Perfect Host. He made his Broadway debut in 1982 in Chris Durang's Beyond Therapy, he most recently had the honor of appearing in Stephen Sondheim's final musical, Here We Are, and in between he has acted in and directed new works, classic plays and musicals on and off Broadway, in regional theater, on the London stage, in the former Soviet Union and in Japan. This spring he is returning to Broadway to star as Major General Stanley in a reimagining of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance.
