The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka's army of curious Oompa-Loompas.

 

Based on the famous novel by Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory features an original score composed by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray) and a book by David Greig. The score also pays homage to the Leslie Bricusse/Anthony Newley score from the 1971 film with songs from the motion picture including "Candy Man," "I've Got a Golden Ticket," "Oompa Loompa Song," and "Pure Imagination."

   Enjoyable, colorful play. Singing wasn't the best and the dialogue wasn't always clear, but Las Cruces is a small city with limited actors/singers. Nevertheless, it is nice to have access to live theater.

   The cast was wonderful. It was thoroughly enjoyable. The only distraction was the microphones. At times some of the actors could not be heard or understood due to too low of a volume or maybe the wrong placement for the microphone.

   This was a great show. We were very impressed with the actors, especially Willie Wonka, Charlie, his Grandfather and all the other actors, singers and dancers. The Oompa Loompa kids were so cute and loved the idea of putting shoes at their knees to make them look shorter. Overall an A+ rating.

 Highly talented cast and crew perform this vividly colorful musical into an event you won't soon forget. .Well worth the time with kudos to costuming, props, and construction of the many sets. Yes, Las Cruces has talent, well worth spending money to foster t h sir growth. I'm recommending this play to everyone.

 Great show! From the casting to the props and backgrounds everything was top notch. It was above and beyond what I have seen a small troupe performance. Kudos to.all involved I am still singing the tunes.

  Wonderful community event; relatively new to Las Cruces, attending these LCCT productions has helped me appreciate this community-the theater production are extremely well presented and I love that it truely is a community theater..thank you for all the time and effort is establishing these events for us to enjoy!

   They were AMAZING!! They really brought Willy Wonka to life and my gf and I were really so impressed! I was so immersed and happy to have randomly decided to go. I’ll be back for more from this group! Everyone was stellar!! I wish the boy’s father behind me would have taught his boy a life lesson rather than engage in conversation with him during the show! It really broke the immersion I was experiencing..!
