What is Summer school?  

CAPA College is proud to announce our first ever 5-day Summer Take-Over, offering young people, aged 8-16, the opportunity to gain experience and training in all aspects of the theatre. This includes how to maintain a healthy lifestyle, fuelling yourself on a budget to sustain energy for dynamic, physical roles within the arts.  

Dance Workshops – Commercial, contemporary and Musical Theatre – Creative lessons where students can explore choreography ideas through modern day themes.  

Drama Workshops – Working on confidence building using drama activities, including devising, directing ensemble theatre.  

Singing Workshops – Expressing yourself through the power of song working on new and existing repertoire.

Masterclasses- With a variety of artists in specialist areas such as directing and aerial skills.

What to expect?  

During the week participants will take part in Singing, dancing and drama masterclasses, with professional artists who have performed in the West End, World renowned cruises and international acclaimed TV and film productions. Students will work towards a performance sharing at the end of the week.  

Students will also have the chance to learn about a healthy lifestyle, through fitness classes and mental wellbeing to promote a happy healthier lifestyle.  

Lunch is included each day, providing participants with a healthy meal to sustain them through physical activity.

We are delighted to be able to offer 50 FREE Summer School places for participants who are eligible for Free School Meals in conjunction with ‘Happy Healthy Holidays’. These places wil be available to book in June via a Council run box office system.  We will announce the release of these places on our social media platforms and website.
