Cake Picnic — Massachusetts 2025

What this is: A fall picnic + friendly cake competition. Competing in the contest is optional. You bring the cake; we bring the vibes—music, voting, prizes, and bragging rights.

Read this first — Entry rule:
NO CAKE, NO ENTRY. Every ticket must be attached to a cake entry (homemade or store-bought is fine). One cake per team. Teams can be 1 or 2 people (use the Add-On Teammate ticket for a partner). There are no spectator-only tickets for this event.

How it works

• Check-in & cake setup: Please arrive by 12:00 noon to set up.

• Round 1 (popular vote): All cakes on display; everyone votes. Top 5 cakes advance and will be reserved for cutting during Round 3.

• Round 2 (tasting prep): Time to cut the cakes—yum! Attendees are split into groups and rotate, on a timer, to pick up their tasting boxes. Each cake owner is responsible for pre-cutting/portioning their cake during setup so the process is smooth and everyone gets a fair sample.

• Round 3 (taste + design): Judges and crowd feedback select the Top 2.

• Final vote & awards: The Top 2 are judged on creativity, taste, and overall presentation. Winners announced at closing.

• Closing — Giveaway (21+): In-person entry only (no purchase necessary). Enter at the Entry Table at check-in. Random drawing after awards for 7 pairs of tickets (bring a plus one) to our February Love on Top brunch. Food, drinks and experience all included. Winners announced on-site and by text/email; valid ID required. Official Rules at the Entry Table.

Prizes

• 1st place: $500

• 2nd place: $200

Tickets

• Contestant Entry — 1 person, 1 cake.

• Add-On Teammate — optional second person for the same team. Must be purchased with a Contestant Entry. MUST participate in the cake contest. NO ENTRY OR REFUND if an add-On teammate ticket is purchased without intentions of competing the day of the event. Remember, competing is 100% optional and you still get to particpate in all the fun, plus your vote counts!! Add-on teammate tickets will be very limited. 

• Early Bird options are limited and final sale.

Cake guidelines (simple + fair)

• Homemade or store-bought allowed. Creativity, taste, and presentation all count.

• One cake per team.

• Please label major allergens (nuts, dairy, gluten, etc.).

• Bring any special stands/props you want. We’ll supply plates/utensils for tasting.

What to bring

• Your cake (covered for travel), knife/cutter, serving tool, and any display items.

• Picnic blankets/chairs. Dress for fall weather.

Policies

• NO CAKE, NO ENTRY. Tickets require a cake entry.

• All sales final. If we must reschedule due to weather, ticket holders will be notified no later than Saturday, November 8, 2025. If we cancel and do not reschedule, we will refund the ticket price and ticketing fees. If we postpone, tickets automatically move to the new date. We will poll ticket holders and select the majority-preferred date.

• Transfers allowed through your Ticketor account up to 4 hours before the event at no charge.

• Behavior & safety: Family-friendly environment. We reserve the right to refuse entry for safety or policy violations.
