Big As Texas Fest - Sunday

Event Flyer

The independent event producers behind Big As Texas, a new country and Americana music and food festival, are proud to announce that the inaugural outdoor festival will be held at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds (9333 Airport Rd, Conroe, TX 77303) near Houston, Texas beginning Friday, May 10 through Sunday, May 12, 2024.

A limited number of early-bird three-day GA, VIP, and Platinum VIP passes will be available for purchase online beginning at Noon CST this Thursday, August 17th on BigAsTexasFest.com, with ticket prices starting at just 169.99 for a 3-day pass. Fans are encouraged to purchase early, as ticket prices will continue to rise as the festival date approaches - meaning this is the cheapest possible three-day ticket patrons can purchase before the event arrives next May.

Utilizing the historic fairgrounds’ sprawling 30+ acre campus, the team behind Big As Texas remains as ambitious as the Lone Star State itself with dozens of music performers, restaurants, vendors, and Texas artisans in store for 2024 attendees along with custom car shows, equestrian exhibitions, carnival games, immersive art installations, silent auctions, chainsaw carvings, and so much more.

At this very moment, the festival team is putting the final touches on a world-class music lineup featuring larger-than-life household names, Grammy Award-winners, legends of the genre, modern chart-topping hitmakers, and some of today’s most sought-after up-and-coming music acts – all of whom will perform next May while set against the background of sprawling Texas prairie land and three main stages, one of which is large enough to host crowds of over 100,000 at any one time.

With country and Americana music having played such an instrumental role in both the longstanding history and modern-day cultural fabric of the Lone Star State, these two genres will serve as the cornerstones of this new festival brand’s booking efforts. However, in true Texas fashion, the festival will also look to shine a spotlight on the large and diverse pool of talent that the state has to offer, with many special surprises in store for Big As Texas festival-goers.

Not only will fans be treated to world-class music entertainment, but festival patrons can also look forward to an expansive food and beverage lineup featuring a curated selection of local chefs, restaurants, and popular culinary destinations found across the state - many of whom will be offering live open-fire grilling as well as cooking demos throughout the weekend affair.

The core team behind the new festival includes a distinguished ‘who’s who’ of seasoned Harris and Montgomery County event veterans - Steve Said of Dosey Doe and Trey Diller of Inspire Productions - in addition to Robert E. Marling Jr., a local county resident, longtime philanthropist, and former-CEO of Woodforest National Bank based nearby in Woodlands, Texas.

Said, who has been producing hundreds of shows each year for more than two decades, has built Dosey Doe into an undeniable Texas music institution by regularly featuring concerts that range famed country legends performing in more intimate settings to show from today’s most popular and distinguished singer-songwriters. "A Festival like Big As Texas is long, long overdue." - proclaimed Steve Said. After a brief stint in the NFL, Trey Diller has also been producing his own events and festivals throughout the region to much fanfare for many years.

Over the past decade, Said and Diller have collectively worked alongside more than 500 musicians from across the globe, offering the Big As Texas team a rare opportunity to foster these working relationships and build something entirely new that will serve their patrons near and far for years to come.

“We are pulling out all the stops on this one. We have recruited some of the most innovative minds in the industry and plan to make Big As Texas a cultural fixture in the state and beyond” said festival co-founder Trey Diller.

The three-day festival will be hosted outdoors in one of the fast-growing counties in the country - Montgomery County - which also happens to be facing an unprecedented epidemic with rapidly-rising rates of suicide death. Due to these alarming statistics, suicide death prevention will provide a constant rallying cry for festival organizers as each has been personally and deeply impacted by the issue.

With an estimated 100+ suicides in America per day, which equates to one suicide death occurring every 11 minutes per the CDC, suicide remains one of the leading causes of death in the United States impacting millions of Americans and their families each year. To combat this, festival organizers will be inviting local experts, doctors, therapists, and elected officials, as well as nonprofit organizations from across the country to join together onsite next May.

The issues of mental health and wellness as well as suicide prevention and awareness serve as a major focal point for festival organizers as they establish the core foundation of this new festival. Big As Texas will soon provide ample resources to address festival attendees’ mental health concerns while onsite next May, with the ultimate goal of making a major impact in their lives long after the festival wraps up Year 1.

Furthermore, organizers have decided to donate ten percent of proceeds from each ticket sold to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that promote suicide death prevention both in Montgomery County and across Texas.

Ultimately, the mission of Big As Texas is to have a positive and substantial economic and cultural impact on Montgomery County and the surrounding region; become one of the most anticipated annual events across the state of Texas, one that is a perfect complement to the existing event landscape and cultural fabric of the Lone Star State; and provide life-saving education and financial support to some of America’s most vulnerable communities that continued to be impacted by suicide.

Stay tuned as the star-studded music lineup will be released this fall. For more news and announcements from the Big As Texas Festival, fans are encouraged to visit the following channels while following the festival on social media:
