BARN OPERA Under the Stars

Opera and Musical Favorites

Event Flyer

Brandon's opera, BARN OPERA, presents an evening of operatic and musical favorites from some of your favorite BARN OPERA artists! Accompanied by the magnificent pianists, Christina Wright-Ivanova, singers from previous BARN OPERA productions, and (new to us) New England singers will sing arias, duets, trios, and ensembles from their repertoire in an evening that is sure to be a highlight of the season! Neither location will provide food or drink, but you are welcome to bring your own! Just because we have to be socially distant, does not mean that you should give up your night out!

Per the governor of Vermont's orders, we will only have space for 75 people in the barn at the Isham Family Farm in Williston, and 150 at Estabrook Park in Brandon. Each seating location will be socially distant, and the singers will be a full 20 ft from any audience member. We will follow every guidance as it comes from the governor from now until then, and take every precaution to ensure the safety of both artist and audience. Please visit www.barnopera.com for further information on the program, the artists, and the concert in general, and we hope to see you this fall for an unforgettable evening of live music!

NB: In Brandon, each socially distant location will allow up to 2 adults and 2 children above the age of 14. This is purely for proximity/"pod" seating - each adult will require their own ticket. Unfortunately, due to the spacing limitations and for everyone's safety, this production is not suited for children under the age of 14 or anyone who is incapable of remaining within their assigned 10ft square area.

Wonderful music but a bit too long. I’m sure you all were anxious to sing for real!

How did you like the event?

I've had theatre experience as leads in musicals and plays and as a director. It was a wonderful program with accomplished performers, but it ran too long. I understand wanting to feature each singer, but the folding chairs grew hard to sit. Details: beautifully handled during this difficult time, but there was poor lighting for the walk after from barn to parking lot. My friend has trouble with differences in grade, was afraid of the bridge- luckily , a couple helped.

How did you like the event?

The venue was fantastic and the opportunity to listen to the wonderful singing was so needed during this stressful time.

How did you like the event?

The talent both pianist and singers are outstanding. What makes this experience an 8 vs a 10 was that the piano tended drown out the singers. And for the finale, I would suggest using tape on the floor of the stage for at least 2 of the people - as a reference so that everyone is adequately represented on stage. One soprano was behind the other while on the other end of the stage the guys had plenty of space between them. Thank you so much.

How did you like the event?

I was really cold. I loved your enthusiasm! Loved how happy all the singers looked. But being cold made me want to leave. Also, I'm thinking that 1.5 hours for the first half was too long. My thought is that 45 minutes is plenty of time for the first half of the performance. But everyone was/is very talented and how blessed we are to have such talent in Vermont! Thank you.

How did you like the event?

I felt the 1st act was a bit too long and unfortunately some of the audience left and missed a fun 2nd act.
