A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE

Event Flyer

Critically acclaimed as Tennessee Williams’ most important play and a classic of the American theatre, A Streetcar Named Desire examines the ways in which postwar America restricted the lives of women and assumed their dependence on the men in their lives. Set in New Orleans in 1947, Streetcar features the struggle of its most famous character Blanche DuBois, whose past demons push her into an ongoing battle between reality and her own illusions.

How did you like the event?

The theater is not large, but all but one actor used amplification. The problem is that the sound system made their voices muddy, so that unless they were shouting, it was impossible to understand what they were saying. Also, to be honest, the actor playing Blanche was badly miscast. We left at intermission.

How did you like the event?

Something with the sound - it was hard to understand the dialogue. It was rather depressing for my Saturday night out. We left at intermission. The female leads were excellent.
