A Christmas Carol

Event Flyer

In the tradition of Charles Dickens reading his own A Christmas Carol to 19th-century audiences throughout Britain and America, long-time LCCT Board member and company member Norman Lewis will present his own reading of this beloved masterpiece.  Seated on stage by himself, this experienced Broadway actor will narrate the story and portray Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, the ghost of Jacob Marley, and 20 other beloved characters with his voice and face alone.  Join us as actor Lewis recreates Christmas in 19th century London in an old-fashioned holiday performance treat for young and old alike.

Adaptation by Norman Lewis from A Christmas Carol in Prose:  A Ghost Story of Christmas by Charles Dickens.

Production designed and supervised by Norman Lewis.

Presented in two acts with a brief intermission, running time approximately 90 minutes.

How did you like the event?

Have not seen the "little dog yet: I thought Norman did a great job in A Christmas Carol, lots of lines and he is such a professional and handles things so well. I personally feel that LCCT is so lucky to have him on board.

How did you like the event?

It was neat to see this. I learned about authors going on tours and reading. I think that is a neat thing that they did. I know some still do. Thank you for that perspective and for a very well done and neat performance.

How did you like the event?

A wonderful performance, the acting and staging were excellent! I didn't know what to expect from a one-man reading of A Christmas Carol but it was as engaging and entertaining as a stage full of actors. Well done!

How did you like the event?

A one-man production and the one man is tremendous. Las Cruces is lucky to have him and his talents, as well as the talents of the director and the crew that made this show possible. Congratulations!

How did you like the event?

Norman brings believably to an age old story. For the first time, the plight of the Scrooge's life and the surrounding events brought a special life to the story. This is the first time tears were brought to my eyes with this story. Norman does an excellent job with the whole production. Everyone stayed for the second act...

How did you like the event?

Norman Lewis was outstanding and brought to life words and images of A Christmas Carol. We travel full time in our RV and try to support community theaters wherever we go. Las Cruces is blessed to have such incredible talent. If we come back this way we will certainly see what’s playing!!!

How did you like the event?

Amazing performance and a story I’ve read many times, seen at the theatre and of course the movies and TV told in a very different way. I tested up at the end as always. Wonderful event!

How did you like the event?

The presentation of A Christmas Carol was phenomenal. Norman Lewis did a wonderful job of bringing the characters from Dickens' tale alive. He is a talented actor and a joy to watch onstage. A Christmas Carol with Norman Lewis is like setting up the family Christmas Tree: a great way to get into the Christmas spirit.
