BARN OPERA will release the virtual video recorded premiere of The Cask of Amontillado by Felix Jarrar on our YouTube Channel on October 31st at 6pm EDT, but YOU will have an opportunity to be the first to experience it at the BARN OPERA House!

“The Cask of Amontillado” is the prolific young composer Jarrar’s ninth opera. He wrote the score and libretto based on the eponymous short story by Edgar Allan Poe. It is the fourth opera he has written based on the short stories of the American gothic master. Tenor Joshua Collier stars as the villainous and demented Montresor alongside baritone Nicholas Tocci as the unsuspecting and not-so-fortunate Fortunato in this tale of cold-blooded murder that is set in to motion through the quest for a bottle of Spanish wine.

The instrumental ensemble features violinist Adam von Housen on violin and the composer on the piano. This release is just the latest in the company’s efforts to support new music and innovative productions that expand the reach of the traditional opera to a more contemporary audience. 

The opera will give its BRANDON Premiere at the BARN OPERA House as the first of the science-fiction, double-feature. 

At 10pm, there will be another screening of another brilliant musical work that will be a surprise treat for all BARN OPERA audience. So why don't you come on down to the lab, and see what's on the slab?

Props are included in your ticket price, so please do NOT bring your own props. We are being careful to select the props that will cause the barn the least amount of damage (or food for the mice that still live there!)
